iAIS is a straightforward AIS target plotter and NMEA data instrument intended for use with the DigitalYacht iAIS WiFi receiver. AIS targets are visualized relative to the position of your iPhone/iPod/iPad device. By tapping on a specific AIS target, you can access details such as speed, course, destination, type, length, and more. Additionally, GPS and Wind data can be conveniently viewed on the Instrument panel.
The application offers the functionality to display AIS targets on top of Navionics charts. Through a one-time In-App purchase, iAIS enables the utilization of all existing Navionics charts without incurring any further chart-related expenses.
Moreover, you have the option to share real-time information about your boat's position, speed, and course, making it visible on various free internet-based AIS apps and websites like BoatWatch and MarineTraffic, provided you possess a valid MMSI number for your vessel.
For individuals in the United States seeking an MMSI number for their boat, it can be acquired by visiting <a href="http://www.boatus.com/mmsi">www.boatus.com/mmsi</a>.
